Support the work of Dreamchaser PMU Rescue

There are many ways to support Dreamchaser PMU  and the cause that we represent. Only through the continuous and generous support of many people can we do this work. If you are seeking a horse or foal for your family, please consider adopting one of these fine animals. If you can give, please do so; large or small, every donation helps. Whether you love horses or have never even seen one up close, come and give of your time; an hour, a day, a week or a month, every moment that a volunteer gives brings us a step closer to the goal. There are ways that you can help without using your time or resources; by slightly changing the way you surf the internet or choose where you shop you can benefit these animals. Please read on and do what you can.

Adopt

Our ultimate goal for most of the horses at Dreamchaser PMU Rescue is to place them in good, loving, forever homes. If you are looking to add a horse to your family, please consider one of our horses. Visit our adoption page for the full story.

Donate or Sponsor

If you cannot own a horse of your own, consider sponsoring a PMU mare or foal. Many of the animals that come to the ranch through this program will live out their lives here and need love and care. Sponsorship is a very personal way to play a significant part in the life of a specific horse. Full sponsorship is $235.00 per month. We welcome individuals or groups to consider this significant commitment. Click here to see our resident PMU horses.

Single donations are the backbone of our ability to care for and feed these horses. Whether it be a dollar from your piggy bank or a check for a million dollars, every penny of your gift is equally important. Virtually 100% of your donation will directly serve these animals, but if you prefer to make a direct in-kind donation of hay, feed, medical supplies or other necessities, your generosity will be more than greatfully accepted.  To see our immediate needs, please see our Wish List.

The following is just a representation of the costs involved in the care of a PMU mare or foal.

One Year of Vaccinations for One Horse $100.00
A Bale of Hay $12.00
Bag of Oats $19.00
Bag of Barley $11.75

Volunteer

"Bill and I so enjoyed our vacation in Arizona this winter. Our trip would not have been complete without the time we spent with you and the horses at Dreamchaser Rescue. When we retire in a few years we hope to be close enough to be there on a weekly basis." Carol Hodgkins, Freeport, Maine

There is no paid staff at Dreamchaser PMU Rescue. Our volunteers are the life force of our program, performing many of the day-to-day tasks at the ranch including feeding, watering, exercising and grooming the horses, cleaning stalls, and maintaining the grounds, barns and fencing. Volunteers are also used in the office to perform a variety of tasks. Everyone has something to offer. To get started, call 623-910-6530. This is an opportunity for all ages, however, we ask that all children are accompanied by an adult.

Saving Wakina

"On Father's Day, The Cox family went out for breakfast.  Before leaving the house, Bruce told his two girls that he wanted to go on a road trip after breakfast.  In spite of the persistent questioning, he would not tell the destination of the trip.  He drove north on Interstate 17 and took the New River exit.  The rustic and rugged terrain puzzled the girls, and the questioning continued.  After a few wrong turns and a long drive down a dirt road, they turned a corner and saw a field with several dozen horses grazing.  A sign told them that the ranch was home to Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation.  Kathy asked, "are we here to see the horses?"  Bruce replied, "No, we are here to adopt one."  Kathy screamed in disbelief.  What she didn't yet know was that Bruce had planned this trip for weeks.  The founder of Dreamchaser welcomed them with the hospitality that only a horse rancher could give.  Bruce had a list of horses he wanted to see, but the rescue group founder knew that they wouldn't be right for us.  You see, we are novices when it comes to horses.

Dreamchaser does not normally allow a novice to adopt one of their rescued family, but they made an exception based on our own rescue background and love of animals.  The founder wanted us to see Wakina.  When we did, we knew that it was a perfect match.  She was now fully saddle trained and ready to go to a loving family.  We happily adopted her!  Wakina is now part of our family, and we have been back three times since Father's Day to visit and bond with her.  Bruce and Kathy have ridden her with ease.  She will be delivered to us on July 17.  We do not have horse property, so she will be boarded at a wonderful facility only a mile from our home.  We will be able to see her every day, to walk, ride, and care for her like she should have been since her birth.  Her rescue and rehabilitation will soon be complete.  Wakina has found her final home."
