Sonora

Sonora is the third of the wild mares we committed to in February of 2011. Of the 58 pregnant mares dropped at the feedlot for slaughter, only 11 were ransomed out. We took three: Luna, Eclipse, and Sonora. Sonora was too close to giving birth to travel all the way to New River so a temporary place was found for her. She arrived at Dreamchaser on August 11. Her foal was adopted in Nevada and remains there. Mahina is still wild and very thin but she is doing better. She gets to enjoy Eclipse and Mahina, and I think these little fillies comfort her.
